What is the Codex of Remembrance?
The Codex of Remembrance is the foundational text of the Vagosystem.
It is the source layer that defines the architecture behind LosVagosNFT before it is expressed through tokens, traits, or mechanics.
The Codex does not function as lore for entertainment, nor as instructions for behavior. It documents the structure of awareness, signal, and remembrance that the system is built upon. The Awareness Classes, Remembrance Codes, and core metaphysics of LosVagosNFT originate here.
The tokens do not invent meaning — they embody what the Codex already defines.

the Vagosystem operationalizes it;
the tokens express it.
Why does the Codex of Remembrance exist?
The Codex of Remembrance exists because the system cannot be trusted to explain itself through tokens alone. Tokens carry signal, but they do not carry context.
LosVagosNFT is not just an NFT collection — it is an attempt to express remembrance through form, mechanics, and participation. But remembrance is not something an object can explain by itself. Without a source text, meaning would drift. Signal would be interpreted through habit, projection, or market logic instead of recognition.
The Codex exists to hold the memory behind the form. It preserves what the system is actually pointing to — before rarity, mechanics, or visuals are mistaken for the message itself.
It ensures that LosVagosNFT remains an embodiment of remembrance, not a substitute for it.
That the system points inward instead of upward.
That signal is not confused with status, and structure is not mistaken for virtue.
The Codex anchors the why behind the system — so the tokens can do what they are meant to do: be carried, engaged with, and remembered through, rather than explained. It does not tell holders how to act. It reminds them what the system is here to reflect.
How does the Codex relate to the Vagosystem?
The Codex of Remembrance is the source architecture of the entire LosVagos system. It defines the architecture itself, while the Vagosystem operationalizes that architecture through mechanics, structure, and interaction. The tokens embody what the Codex defines, and the carrier engages with it through holding, participation, and lived experience.
The Codex is not part of the system — the system is downstream of the Codex.
